Dental Cleanings: Post - Op
February is dental month. Receive 10% off all dental procedures for the entire month!

Routine dental procedures require very little, if any, post procedural instructions.

  1. If your pet had a routine dental cleaning they can most likely go home the same day of the procedure.

  2. If your pet does come home the same day, be sure to offer wet food for them as their mouth may be sore. If they refuse to eat or seem a little sluggish that night, do not be alarmed.

  3. Antibiotics are usually prescribed after a dental procedure to ward off any kind of infection. Be sure to use them as prescribed.

  4. If any extractions were needed, pain medication may also be sent home. Like all other medications, be sure to use as directed.

Dental care is important for all pets as healthy teeth boost their comfort and well being. Cleaning & extracting teeth is relatively simple and the procedure is usually very quick. For more information about the importance of dental health, read more in our Preventative Care.
